What I write about
There are two main series that make up this blog:
Project Management for TTRPGs: This series uses my first collaborative project, Encounters in the Radiant Citadel, as a case study for planning and coordinating a TTRPG project. The series focuses on actionable advice, templates, and industry learnings that you can use when planning your own TTRPG group projects. The full list of articles is here and you can learn more about the inspiration here.
The Jukebox Journal DevLog: This is a more off-the-cuff game development journal for Jukebox: The Karaoke Musical Tabletop Roleplaying game (Coming to Kickstarter Fall 2023). It covers what I’m learning, in real time, as I create my first crowdfunded and physical product. The full list of articles is here.
Beyond that, expect the occasional call for playtesters and announcements as I launch TTRPG products.
Who I am
Hi 👋👋👋 I’m Lyla McBeath Fujiwara (aka Jar of Eyes Games), a Massachusetts-based TTRPG writer, game designer, and project lead. I’ve had many past lives, from teaching high schoolers in East Africa to eight years in tech, where I worked as a developer for Google News and created online programming courses that taught hundreds of thousands of students how to make their first mobile apps. I’m currently the Project Lead of the Stormlight Archive TTRPG, a 2023 Storytelling Collective Creative Laureate, a 2023 Big Bad Con PoC Scholar, and the author of this substack! In my off hours, I can be found throwing lopsided ceramics and cooking feasts for my cooperative house.
